On one fine morning, while I was practicing watercolors on a piece of scrap paper, I thought of using another pattern "African Artist" as my first layout on the piece. But accidentally, I forgot the whole step out, and this new Tangle "Chank" appeared. I named the Tangle Chank, for its shape reminded me of a conch shell. I checked some conch names and shapes that matches with this pattern, and came across "Chank". The name Chank also synchronized with the sound in Shankha (in Sanskrit language). Shankha is of ritual and religious importance in Hinduism and Buddhism. Shankha also has ayurvedic medicinal properties as the powder derived from Shankha has calcium, magnesium and iron.
I simply love shankha for when its blown in all our Hindu Temple, it immediately calms down our senses. Also, as kid, I always loved to keep the shankha close to my ears, as we could hear tidal waves blowing out of it.
So here's the step-out for my Tangle Pattern Chank
