This week I was inspired by Simone Bischoff’s Tangle Maylea.

I will play a few variations of this tangle pattern.

To check the original step out of the tangle – log into Simone’s blog here.

Tangling Maylea was not easy!

No, I did not mean the tangle; but doing it as my weekly challenge was “double the challenge in its own way”.

I went through so many phases of hurdles and obstacles.

Challenge 1: My first attempt!

Few months before I explored this Tangle on my sketchbook with just ink and pencil. If only I had saved the video, I could have shown you the whole process!

Now I am left with just this snippet -

Challenge 2: Then this week I thought of exploring it again.

This week, I was inspired to use my Pen & Ink Sketchbook, which I recently brought from @furrytailarts, a local artist and a small business owner. Though the book says it is for Pen and Ink, I found it to be able to take watercolours with ease.

I already had watercolor washes on my paper; so all I needed was the mood and the weather.

Pune these days have lovely weather - it rains sometimes other days it is slightly warmer and by evening it is pretty chill. The hills across my home are feeling green again and people are seen in their light jackets, shawls, sweatshirts, etc.

With all these thoughts already running through my mind, I started to draw.

Within an hour I completed the drawing.

It was a long hard day; had to do so many errands, and so many things went wrong, but time spent on just this sketchbook was relished and greatly appreciated. It was one of the best things of the day, so I wrote it in my Gratitude Journal.

And the next day I checked the video; it had so many errors & issues.

Just not good enough to put it out!

Challenge 3: So I decided to re-do it the Third Time.

I picked a watercolor surface page again, and once again started tangling. This time, I tried my best to be mindful of everything around me - The camera lens, my hands, the pen I use, colored pencils, and all other tools

You may think why am I sharing all my challenges here?

It’s because I want you to know that; these challenges happen all the time to anyone who is giving free or paid content to the audience. Yet, they try to serve beyond their limitations. Sometimes sacrifices are made by the family; who deserve their attention & time.
That is why, at the end of the video; I thanked my family to be present and support me emotionally, and psychologically and also for giving me space to carry out my work.

After a detour About Challenges,

we are back with Tangle Maylea!

So even though, twice I failed, my third attempt at the video recording went successful and my Youtube Video is up and ready here.
