Updates from May - June 2019
What was in May 2019 for me?
Since May and June are summer holidays here for all the schools in Delhi, I decided to send my daughter to my parent’s home for three weeks. I had two planned trips and one unplanned one. Since the unplanned trip, was manageable, I and my husband squeezed into our calendar.
Most of these trips I made it alone on my own, so I get plenty of time to process myself and fully engage into the world around me and within me. I always carry something of Zentangle with me, you never know when the inspiration will come hitting and it will itch you to JUST DO IT! So, this time, I was in process of exploring watercolors and the new journal I bought. I enjoyed carrying my handy watercolor palette from Mungyo Professional (well, though it claims to be professional, but it is only a beginner medium), water/aqua brush and my journal. So sometimes on the waiting seat at the airport, on the flight, on the transit and then finally reaching home, I finished the two-page journal.
I even started this fun Zentangle Weekly Inspired String by Sukesha on the same landscape journal. Even though I didn’t receive the needed outcome, yet it is fun to see how using few colors and mixes, one cannot come up with beautiful washes. These kinds of experiments remind me to tangle, paint, explore more and more. After all, that’s what creative minds do. The whole joy is to allow oneself to process their maximum best.
What is in June 2019 for me?
June has begun slowly for me. After I returned from my first trip, I and my husband decided an escape trip to a hill station Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, IN for an extended weekend. We are always so busy with our kid, daily chores, his job, my art and workstation, that, it has taken over three years to plan a holiday destination. We had a nice and quite time at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh for few days. In fact, we remained quiet and immersed within ourselves – maybe it’s the beautiful, holistic destination, with picturesque view of snow-capped Himalayan Mountain range, just besides our hotel room. The weather was very moderate, temperature not exceeding beyond 27 in the daytime. People of Dharmshala are very peace-loving and nature loving people. They would not allow any cars to honk, and in heavy traffic time, they will just calmly by-pass the cars and keep up to their foot. I really enjoyed learning the history of Tibetian culture, medicines and astrology. They have tried their best to keep up their tradition alive and pass it on to the present generations of school and medicine.
So, after my return from the trip, I realized that my other Zentangle Friends in the teacher’s group have started a new game on TagMe. I gave my try too. This is my finished Zentangle Artwork. As much as I am skeptical starting a Tan or Grey Tile, it never ceases to amaze me how the process goes about and how fun it gets.
I hope you guys enjoyed my very long blog with personal updates. From July onwards, I promise you guys that we shall keep up with the Zentangle Fun of Challenges in the Tangle and Inspire Facebook Group.
Happy Tangling
Aish
